In a new step that reflects Yalla Kafala Organizion's role as a key partner in supporting and developing the Kafala system in Egypt, the Organizion has joined the Supreme Committee for Alternative Kafala Families at the Ministry of Social Solidarity.
This membership represents an important opportunity to contribute to ongoing efforts aimed at ensuring the best interests of children and supporting kafala families throughout their Kafala journey.
The Supreme Committee for Alternative kafala Families is responsible for overseeing the Kafala system through a framework based on governance, coordination, and continuous follow-up.
The committee reviews Kafala applications, evaluates prospective kafala families, and monitors procedures to ensure that children are placed in safe and stable environments.
It also works on coordinating efforts between different entities and following up with local committees to improve the quality of services provided to children and families.
Yalla Kafala Organizion's participation in the Supreme Committee is an important milestone, built on the Organizion's practical experience with children and Kafala families on the ground.
The Organizion's role extends beyond awareness and family support during the Kafala journey. It is now also part of discussions and decision-making processes that aim to develop the system by addressing challenges and contributing practical solutions that prioritize children’s best interests.
Through its membership in the Supreme Committee, Yalla Kafala Foundation contributes by:
Participating in discussions related to decisions concerning the Kafala system.
Taking part in voting on committee decisions.
Sharing real experiences and insights from children and kafala families.
Contributing to the development of support and follow-up mechanisms for kafala families.
Collaborating with the Ministry of Social Solidarity and relevant stakeholders to strengthen the Kafala system.
At Yalla Kafala Organizion's, we believe that developing the Kafala system requires true collaboration between all stakeholders. The integration of government efforts with civil society organizations creates greater opportunities to protect children and support families.
Joining the Supreme Committee is a responsibility we value and an opportunity to continue working toward a more supportive and inclusive Kafala system that always places the child’s best interests first.
Because every child deserves a home.
