When the team lives the journey themselves…A different kind of training day at Yalla Kafala Foundation

At Yalla Kafala Foundation, we believe that true support for kafala families isn’t just about answering questions or guiding them through paperwork. It’s about understanding their journey, experiencing its details, and feeling its challenges.

That’s why the Yalla Kafala team recently completed the mandatory training that kafala families take during their kafala journey.

This training is a key requirement for any family preparing to welcome a child into their home, and it covers essential psychological, social, and practical aspects for both families and children.

Why did the team take the training?

Because the foundation is the entity that accompanies families from the very beginning of the journey. Which means the team needs to be:

• Familiar with the stages of the journey

• Aware of the challenges families face

• Able to anticipate their questions

• Informed about the tools and resources that support them

When the team experiences the training themselves, it transforms them from simple “guides” into informed and conscious partners.

Support isn’t just information; support is understanding.

The purpose behind attending the training was to ensure that when any family reaches out to us, they find someone who:

• Truly understands what they’re going through

• Can walk the journey with them

• Provides effective support, not superficial

The kafala journey is, above all, a human journey, and those who support it must first understand the human at its core.

At Yalla Kafala Foundation, we work to strengthen the entire ecosystem. beginning with the family, extending to the child, and inevitably passing through us.
