Yalla Kafala Organization Participates in Conference on Developing the Kafala Care System

Yalla Kafala Organization participated in a three-day conference focused on developing the Kafala care system in Egypt. The event was held under the patronage of Minister of the Ministry of Social Solidarity, Maya Morsy and led by Head of the Central Administration for Care, Wael Abdel Aziz, and Director of Institutional Care, Alaa Abdel Aaty.

The conference addressed several key themes aimed at strengthening and developing the Kafala care system in Egypt. It brought together stakeholders from government and civil society to discuss ways to better support kafala families and advance the best interests of children.

Mandatory Training and Digital Transformation

One of the main topics discussed during the conference was the implementation of the national mandatory training program for kafala families, with Yalla Kafala Organization serving as a key partner in delivering this training.

Discussions also highlighted the digital transformation of the Kafala system, aimed at facilitating procedures, improving efficiency, and enhancing the quality of services provided to kafala families while safeguarding the well-being of children.

Participants also reviewed the legal framework governing Kafala policies and procedures, including the role of the Supreme Committee and local committees responsible for regulating and overseeing the system.

Promoting Community Awareness

During the event, Shaimaa Abbas, Local Relations Manager with MoSs at Yalla Kafala Organization, delivered a speech presenting the vision and mission of Yalla Kafala Organization. She emphasized the importance of community awareness in supporting kafala care and strengthening society’s understanding of the kafala system.

She also highlighted the role of the “Kafala Bus” initiative as an innovative tool for spreading awareness and reaching different communities to encourage greater support for children in need of family care.

Inspiring Stories from Kafala Families

The event also featured inspiring stories from kafala families. Among them was a speech by Fadia, a kafala mother and the Community Support Coordinator at Yalla Kafala, who shared her personal journey and experience with kafala.

Another highlight was the “Photo in a Story” activity, which showcased real stories and journeys from kafala families. The activity received strong engagement and messages of support for kafala families.

Yalla Kafala Organization remains proud to contribute to the development of the Kafala care system, working alongside partners from the government and civil society.

Together, these efforts aim to create a safer and more supportive future for every child, ensuring that more children grow up in stable and caring family environments.
