Yalla Kafala Non-Profit organization was honored to participate in the seminar organized by the National Council for Childhood and Motherhood in collaboration with Save the Children NGO at the Greater Cairo Library. The event brought together government officials, experts, civil society organizations, and all stakeholders interested in the Kafala and alternative family care system.
What made this seminar different was that it did not focus solely on achievements and numbers. Instead, it created an open and honest space to discuss, with complete transparency, the challenges faced by Kafala families in front of decision-makers. The goal was to reach practical solutions that serve the best interests of children and support families throughout their Kafala journey.
Yalla Kafala’s participation was unique because it was rooted in real, hands-on experience and the daily journeys we share with Kafala families, rather than relying solely on written strategies or theoretical approaches.
This was reflected in the contributions of the organization’s representatives and Kafala mothers who participated in the seminar. They shared inspiring success stories and journeys filled with love, challenges, and a deep sense of belonging. Their stories were met with appreciation and admiration from everyone in attendance.
Yalla Kafala also opened an important discussion about Kafala for older children& Adolescents, a topic that is rarely addressed despite its significance.
Through a real-life experience, we explored what it means for an older child to find a family that embraces them, how Kafala can transform both the child’s life and the family’s, and the challenges and achievements that come with this journey. It was a heartfelt conversation that resonated deeply with the audience.
At Yalla Kafala, we believe that every successful Kafala story is a message of hope and that every challenge discussed openly is a genuine step toward meaningful change.
We hope that the recommendations emerging from the seminar will be translated into practical action, because our shared goal is one: for every child to find a home that embraces them and a family that gives them the love and sense of belonging they deserve.
